Usually, parents can consider potty training their toddlers when they are between 18 to 24 months.
It is generally observed that girls are ready earlier for training and also learn faster. It’s important that you should be able to devote time to potty training toddlers once you decide that it’s time to begin. It may be difficult to train the child to use the potty for reasons such as expecting another child, one of the spouses falling sick, shifting location, or the child being ill. It is advisable to get over distractions and start training your kid in a stable and steady environment. There is no best time of the year to start potty training your child – if you feel the little one is ready then so should you be.
When you start potty training a toddler be prepared for a patient teaching period that may take between 3 to 6 months. There are degrees of independence when it comes to a child’s potty training. A child can be considered to be truly potty trained when it can make it to the potty without soiling itself, flush, and clean itself on its own. This can take time and most kids need some help or supervision till they reach the age of three or four years.
